Globalscape v8.3.0 brings enhanced security and control to file transfers
What’s New in Globalscape EFT? Version 8.3.0 Modernizes and Secures File Transfers
Globalscape EFT has released v8.3.0, the latest version of the software to enhance security, performance, efficiency, and reliability.
“This version of Globalscape, like all of our versions, is designed to make the task of transferring business-critical or sensitive files more secure, more efficient, and more compatible with the processes, solutions and people customers interact with,” said Ivan Vasquez, Product Manager, Globalscape EFT. “In addition, with every version, we strive to make it easier for organizations to meet stringent compliance requirements to help them avoid financial or reputational consequences.
“In this release, we’ve taken security a step further by introducing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for administrators, implementing OWASP-recommended anti-CSRF protections, and enhancing the Web Transfer Client with Content Security Policy (CSP) Level 3. These updates reflect our ongoing commitment to helping customers stay ahead of evolving cybersecurity threats.”
Enhanced MFT Security and Compliance
Managed File Transfer (MFT) is designed to help organizations be secure as well as in compliance when it comes to managing the data entrusted to them. These updates help support those initiatives:
- Syslog logging to SIEM by default for easier integration with security information and event management tools. This can help improve threat detection and incident response in real time.
- Multi-factor authorization for the EFT admin GUI, which adds another layer of protection to accessing sensitive data. This enhancement also helps organizations comply with HIPAA, NIST, and PCI DSS.
- Support for CSP Level 3 strict-dynamic in WTC and enhancement for browser-based security, which can help prevent Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks.

- Additional admin and enforcement enhancements, such as allowing policy configurations to auto-disable inactive accounts and automatically enforcing strong password and lockout policies.
Efficiency and Management Also Enhanced
Version 8.3 of Globalscape also helps organizations meet their needs for streamlining the file transfer process with efficiency and control. Two highlights:
- Set a default expiration for Transactional Workspaces via Admin GUI to simplify how shared files are governed and to improve data hygiene.
- Provides REST API support via the DMZ Gateway, which secures and automates file transfer workflows without the need to open inbound ports.
Globalscape v8.3 Platform and Performance Improvements
Other updates include support for Windows Server 2025, which helps to future-proof the deployment environment, and helps IT teams working to upgrade their infrastructure without fear of incompatibility. Bug fixes to help reduce manual intervention and improve solution usability and product performance were also made.
