Folder Monitor Module for Globalscape EFT

The Folder Monitor Module (FMM) allows you to detect whether files in a monitored folder have been created, deleted or renamed. If triggered, the event rule can automatically perform a specified action in response. For example, every time a weekly report is uploaded to a specific folder you can you define an Event Rule so that when Globalscape EFT detects that a file has been added to the folder, an email is sent to notify one or more users that the report is available for download.

The automation ease of folder monitoring allows EFT administrators to set event rules to run based on specific folder events without having to continually monitor additions to or changes to those folders.

Advantages of the Folder Monitor Module

  • Productivity: Automating folder events triggers takes away some of the manual and tedious tasks involved in moving data along its journey.
  • Cost Reduction: Automatically monitoring folders and subsequent events is a cost-effective way to handle repetitive, time-consuming tasks.
  • Reliability: When folder activity is monitored automatically it is more reliable. There is peace of mind of knowing that jobs are completed and not forgotten or run at the incorrect time or order. Any triggers with prerequisite conditions are completed successfully before the next sequenced event.
  • Risk Reduction: With the FMM you can adopt a “set it and forget it” mindset around folder-related tasks you choose to automate without worrying about missed steps or other human errors. Removing the need for human intervention can also help avoid data breaches and unauthorized access to sensitive data.

The Folder Monitor Module is one of several intuitive Globalscape EFT modules designed to streamline automation for the delivery and management of data. Modules such as FMM can eliminate many of the time-consuming, manual processes that are subject to simple human error.

The FMM can save organizations time, reduce potential errors, and streamline the business processes of monitoring folder activity without the limitations of legacy systems and applications.
