Britain’s exit from the EU (“Brexit”) left markets wavering as the world wondered what it would all mean for the global economy. While Brexit was in the spotlight, however, another economic agreement involving the EU was being enacted. That agreement is the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield, a treaty that reconciles the differences between European and American data security and management laws and regulations by providing a framework under which grievances may be resolved in the event violations occur.
