Globalscape Releases EFT version 7.3.3
We’re excited to unveil our latest set of feature improvements to EFT. In this latest release, we created the new Advanced Authentication Module (AAM) with support for SAML web single-sign on and a brand new Microsoft Outlook® Add-in for the Workspaces module. With this release, we aim to help our customers meet the growing demands of an increasingly complex IT infrastructure. Security, governance, control, and ease of use are all concerns of admins.
Maintain Security, Simplicity and Control with the Advanced Authentication Module
In an increasingly complex enterprise IT environment IT admins want to consolidate and centralize their identity and access control systems, rather than manage disparate systems. Additionally, in complex enterprise environments Admins also want to federate identity and access controls across organizational boundaries (realms), shifting the responsibility of identity management to a trusted partner or cloud based authentication provider. Admins need products that are interoperable with centralized access control solutions that gives them more control to enforce security policies while providing a not impeding user productivity.
EFT Enterprise with AAM provides support for easy-to-use authentication methods, including smart card, single sign-on, and multi-factor authentication options. By centralizing authentication methods and using an interoperable solution like AAM with EFT Enterprise, users can use a single source of authentication across the IT resources they use, including EFT. AAM includes the following features and functionality:
SAML Web Single Sign-On: Identity management is achieved through a centralized source of authentication. Single Sign-On (SSO) provides users with the ability to input their credentials once to have secure access to multiple sites, apps, or resources via SAML protocol support. EFT supports SAML v2.0 and has been verified against SafeNet Authentication Services, Shibboleth, Microsoft ADFS, and Salesforce.
RSA SecurID® Authentication Compatibility: EFT Enterprise is compatible with the most recent version of RSA’s Authentication Manager (AM), version 8.1. This guarantees interoperability with the latest supported version of EFT Enterprise and RSA AM, for two-factor authentication in conjunction with Globalscape, LDAP, and ODBC-authenticated sites. Globalscape is also an "RSA Secured" partner.
Remote Authentication Dial-In User (Radius) Integration: Radius allows for integration with third-party SMS solutions for text message verification as a second factor during authentication.
Common Access Card (CAC) Authentication Support: EFT Enterprise with AAM supports Common Access Card (CAC) authentication, which provides unified access and authentication to provide physical access to buildings and computer systems. This release includes support for CAC PIV via RFC822 Name.
Introducing the New Microsoft Outlook® Add-in for Workspaces: In addition to the new module we’ve made updates to the Workspaces module for EFT. Many of our customers love the reporting and automation features in EFT, and the simplicity and security of sending files with Mail Express®. The integration of the two products takes the best features in Mail Express and incorporates them into EFT. We’ve begun this transition with the introduction of the Workspaces Outlook Add-in. EFT users can now enjoy the ad hoc functionality of Mail Express, with the centralized governance and visibility controls built into EFT. Seamless integration with Microsoft Outlook means users can maintain their day-to-day workflows without interruption, and IT Administrators have a simple method to maintain control over their company’s data.
We’re excited to introduce these productivity and security enhancing features. These are the first steps in a larger initiative that will continue through next year. In the next few months we expect to have additional updates.
