Globalscape will be exhibiting at Infosecurity Europe again this year, and the conference is shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet. With Infosec’s 20th anniversary due in 2015, this is set to be our last in Earls Court, with the venue moving north to Olympia next year.
As always, the key discussion points at this year’s conference are as relevant and poignant as ever. With such significant growth in cloud services and storage in the last year, a key area of discussion will be security in the cloud.
An expansion in cloud computing has brought with it concerns about security issues. The problems created by the recent Heartbleed bug are clear evidence of this. The considerable openness of the cloud at the moment makes it an interesting time to follow the evolution of information security. The growth of cloud platforms including Google Apps, Amazon Web Services, and now Office 365 do bring about a number of concerns and potential threats to businesses.
At Globalscape we are looking forward to hearing Eran Feigenbaum, Google App’s Director of Security, discuss Google’s efforts to secure their users’ sensitive information in the cloud, as their share of the market has grown in the last year.
With so much talk of file security in the cloud, we are excited to announce the details of our latest version of our Enhanced File Transfer™ (EFT) platform. In the last year, we have seen many examples of data falling into the wrong hands and securing file transfers is an essential part of securing an entire business network, inside or outside of the cloud.
The prevalence of data threats such as the recent Heartbleed bug only reiterates the need for secure file sharing. With collaboration in the workplace moving to the cloud, the threat has grown. Insecure collaboration invites security breaches. It will be interesting to hear what other IT security professionals at Infosec think about this issue.
One last note: We invite people to stop by Stand K60 to learn more about our managed file transfer solutions. In addition, we will host a roundtable discussion with IT professionals and customers in London on April 28 that will include topics pertaining to security and availability of critical systems. We look forward to seeing you at Infosec 2014.
