GlobalSCAPE Joins the PCI Security Standards Council
SAN ANTONIO - GlobalSCAPE (AMEX:
GSB), leading the market in the
integration of Managed File Transfer and Wide Area File Services
technologies, today announced the company has been accepted as a
Participating Organization of the PCI Security Standards Council.
The PCI Security Standards Council develops, maintains and promotes
the adoption of the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) - a set of
best practices for the payment industry. The PCI DSS enhances data
security and proactively protects customer account information at
all points in the payment process - processing, transmission and
storage.
"The PCI Data Security Standards provides necessary steps for
companies to safeguard their customers' data," said Bob Russo,
general manager of the PCI Security Standards Council. "Security is
everyone's responsibility, and organizations recognize that
protecting consumers' personal information is the right thing to do.
Organizations that join and participate in the Council can help us
to get the message out in the market and drive further adoption."
"We view our acceptance as a member of the PCI Standards Council in
the highest regard; we see it as a natural extension of our core
strength and mission of protecting private and confidential data,"
said Ellen Ohlenbusch, VP of Marketing at GlobalSCAPE. "By joining
the Council, we can better help our customers bridge the gap between
understanding these regulations and taking proactive measures. We
are excited to participate in this initiative and are eager to
provide companies with the tools necessary to succeed in this area."
