GlobalSCAPE Boosts Security, Workflow Integration, and Administrative Capabilities with Introduction of Enhanced File Transfer Server 5
ORLANDO – GlobalSCAPE (OTCBB:GSCP), leading the market on the integration of Managed File Transfer and Wide Area File Services technologies, has released Enhanced File Transfer (EFT) Server v5.0, the newest version of its Microsoft Windows-based flagship solution for the exchange of files between employees, business partners, and customers. Available immediately, EFT 5.0 addresses pervasive problems in the areas of security, integration, and administration within enterprise environments.
Extensive changes were made to EFT's administrative capabilities. Now multiple administrators or help-desk personnel can simultaneously connect and manage the server, viewing and accessing only what they're allowed to see and control. Initial setup is noticeably easier through functions that provide immediate feedback for Active Directory and LDAP authentication configuration options.
EFT 5.0's Event Rules have been entirely re-engineered for improved integration of data into customers' workflow processes. Administrators can now create highly complex rules that consolidate dozens of individual rules. Based on customer input, GlobalSCAPE has expanded the list of available post processing actions and conditions and overall rule management capabilities.
"Customers worked with us to develop the EFT 5.0 with more flexibility and functionality designed to continuously improve security, integration, and administration," said Robert Oslin, Director of Product Management at GlobalSCAPE. "At the same time, we wanted to ensure continued ease of use so we've also incorporated a range of usability improvements."
EFT 5.0 also adds enforcement of complex passwords based on Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) and the Department of Defense best practices. In addition, multiple enhancements have been made to the SFTP and SSL sub-systems, such as HTTP to HTTPS redirection, and finer control over SFTP banner messages and SSL ciphers – all geared to significantly improve EFT's core security and allow for increased levels of security during business partner connections.
